Betting Exchange
The key difference between a regular sportsbook and a betting exchange is that on an exchange you are betting against other players, not the casino. This often results in better odds and more flexible betting options.
🟢 Back Bet
You think something will happen — for example, Bangladesh Tigers will win the match. So you place a bet on that outcome.
🔴 Lay Bet
You think something will not happen — meaning you take on the role of the bookmaker and accept another player's bet.
A Worked Example
| Back Bet | Lay Bet | |
|---|---|---|
| Amount | ৳1,000 | ৳1,000 (liability) |
| Odds | 2.0 | 2.1 |
| Profit if Win | ৳1,000 | ৳476 (after commission) |
| Loss if Lose | ৳1,000 | ৳1,100 (liability) |
Odds on the exchange are set by other players — the platform only takes a small commission on winnings. This is completely different from a regular sportsbook where the bookmaker sets the odds.
